Spongecity: Day to night
Flat kitchen sponges are sewn together to make soft textured moulds for colored porcelaine slip. Common cellulous sponges lend themselves to the unique and individual forms for the elongated containers. Grouped together, these vessels create a rhythmed skyline imitating the colors that the sky reflects upon the city buildings throughout the day and night.
Upon closer inspection you can observe that two of the integrated pieces are made of cellulous sponge. These pieces are camouflaged into the installation as they represent the time and color limits of the different parts of day. They also lend to a visual and structural cohesion of the installation.
